But Elaine, you say, “I can’t move to California for two years for your perfect training program!”
Alright, I’ll give you the budget plan.
Books, videos, the internet, make lots of mistakes, take local cheap classes. What books? Well, you’re on a budget here, go to the library and see what you can get.
Go to Ganoksin and read all the articles from Charles Lewton Brain.
Books to choose? Visit the book section at my main website,
CreativeTextureTools for some recommendations. But in brief, anything by Tim McCreight, Charles Lewton Brain and Alan Revere will be good. Oh, and I musn’t forget Oppi Untract and his massive tomes.
Look for inexpensive, short classes at your local community colleges and art centers. At least one in person class can save you a lot of time and money.
See my previous post for low cost and free how to video clips and rentals.
