Prismacolors on Copper

Here’s a picture of just one of the techniques we’ll be doing in my upcoming workshop Color and Metal on patinas for silver and copper at the Indianapolis Art Center.

The picture shows Prismacolors on copper.

Here’s the workshop description:

Saturday 9 a.m.-3 p.m. & Sunday 12-3 p.m.
April 26 & 27

Enhance your jewelry and objects by learning to achieve rich and diverse colorations on metal. Students will create a series of color studies on silver and copper using both hot and cold patina processes. Brushed-on, buried, drawn-on, flamed-on, will all be explored. Learn to incorporate gold foil using the Keum-boo technique and learn to create with epoxy resin inlay. Use of creative cold connections will be discussed. In addition to a series of color samples, students can expect to create a pendant or small object.
