You know Beverly Cleary of course, she’s the author of the Ramona Quimby books, among many others.
She’s 93! and retired, but recently gave an interview to Costco Connection magazine. They asked her, “Do you still write? Is there anything you wish you had written about, but didn’t get to?”
And she answered:
“I no longer write. I wish I had written about Ramona in the fifth grade, but I didn’t wish hard enough to actually do it.”
I love that. She wishes, and she takes responsibility for not making it happen.
What do you wish to do?
