I’m making my plans for an “at home residency,” as I described in this post.
For anyone interested in a more traditional residency, I thought I’d share two sources for finding listings.
The first is the Alliance for Artist Communities, which is the member organization for the actual places that host residencies. You can find their listings here.
They also have tips for artists and you can see if the place you’re considering for a residency is a member of AAC.
Another useful source is Artist Opportunities Monthly, a subscription service that has a special on right now, 3 months free. Here are the details:
Art Opportunities Monthly Professional (AOM) is offering a free, no-obligation 3-month subscription for those not yet familiar with it. It is easy to read, a snap to search and it looks nice, too. It is for professional artists and protographers, and those who would like to be.
AOM, a monthly list of opportunities (grants, juried shows, public art commissions, etc.) with world-wide circulation, has been around for over 13 years.
