I was just recommending these lights in an online forum and thought I should share here too.
I have two lighting set ups, one that’s always set up and is jewelry scale (above), and a larger one for really long necklaces, small to medium sized sculptures and even people!
Here’s a lighting set up very similar to mine:
One of the keys to good product photography is good lighting and minimizing shadows, the simplest way to do that is with three lights. The set above, from amazon, is really nice for the price and the lights stay cool, because they’re CFLs.
Supposedly, the lights and stands and softboxes can be all folded up and put back in the bag, but that’s a bit of a pain, we tend to leave ours set up.
That’s all there is to it! Good lights, good camera, real photo backdrop.
What do you you use for your photo lights?
