Marco, your comment about how much time it takes to maintain your stie makes me feel a lot better about my decision not to do my own site!

Kirsten, thanks for the comment, I love to hear about what others do and don't. I think it's very helpful for people to hear that from a working artist like you.

I pay other people to do CAD design for me, all sorts of cutting for me, and even some repetitive forgings for me.

Also, from here on out, I am not doing any more painting of ironwork. There are other people much better equipped for that job.

There are all sorts of tasks that are better suited to other people. I'm better off doing just what I do best- the nature themed hammer work.

I got lucky since I also studied photography and for years have done graphic design and web design, so the fact that I CAN do those things saves me a lot of money. It can get extraordinarily time-consuming, however. My web site used to be a little fancier with more animation but it was too much work to keep it updated, so I scrapped it in favor of something simpler that I could easily maintain.

What I don't attempt to do myself are complex mold-making and casting for my limited series reproductions, because I don't have a lot of experience with either and prefer to leave that to those who do exclusively that. I also don't do my own taxes. Yuck!
