I have been doing research on how to set-up my in-home studio to minimize dust and fumes so I was happy to find your information. I have looked at a variety of dust collection systems as well as ventilation systems for my soldering station. Thanks so much for the information!
I'm wondering how you feel about using a torch (I use a propane torch with 14.1 ounce propane tank) and am also concerned about the safety of this. Any thoughts?

Thanks so much got this! This is exactly what I've been looking for. You and I are on the same exact page with this and now that I'm pregnant I'm even more concerned. It does seem pricey but worth it if constructed well and keeps the dust out.

My understanding is that capturing the fumes or particles at the source is pretty important. And if they are handled at the source, a whole studio system is not needed.

But I'm no expert on ventilation, that's just my understanding.

Your description is good but from my standpoint ventilation for the whole studio is more important...... What have you found out about that? Sadly a price of $1000. for one station is really high.....
