I am so grateful you posted this! I have had bronze clay for well over a few months and was just going to try it this week. I am very new to working with the clay-only used pmc3about (100gr into it). I also have a paragon-recently purchased-I have learned alot from Cool Tools website. That is where I learned to program the kiln. (I need visual too!)

I had similar experiences. Usually not when I’m firing just bronze clay, but when I put the bronze and copper together I got all dust in the middle. Here is my post about my failure.

I have a Paragon too, and it’s funny, it seemed like I had less problems firing my initial pieces (when I didn’t know any better
But I’m thinking a firing log book is a great idea, especially when I’m firing copper.
