Ooo, I love that idea about the inset for the art book!

The jpg didn't come through, could you post a link to the picture?

So, you're looking to learn to make photopolymer plates for this project. Will it be based on a photo, or based on a drawing?

If you go to the search box here on the blog and type in Photopolymer, you'll find every post I've ever written on the subject.

Some quick info.:

you can buy them from Art Clay World, Boxcar Press and other places.

Search on YouTube for videos by Tonya Davidson and Maggie Bergman.

I'll see what else I can find for you, this would be a good topic for a post, but that should get you started.

Hello!
I found your site in my quest for ideas about how to create more texture (especially background texture) through photo polymer plates. I have plans to do some work related to a copper or white bronze metal inset for an art book for my Mom and related to my Great Grandmother's arrival in the U.S. from Czechoslovakia at about the turn of the century.

The best example of background texture I can find is this gorgeous image of a tree by an artist who was working with white bronze.

(jpg)

If you have any ideas or suggestions to share, I would be so appreciative!

Many thanks in advance!

Ann Marie Liakos

A local class with an in person instructor is best! If you can't do that, check out my posts in the category Free Tutorials and Videos, download my free ebook -- those will get you started!

Post again if I can help you with something more specific!

Thanks, Elaine

The best detailed instructions are probably in one of these two books:

<iframe src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?lt1=_blank&bc1=FFFFFF&IS2=1&npa=1&bg1=FFFFFF&fc1=000000&lc1=0000FF&t=createxttool-20&o=1&p=8&l=as4&m=amazon&f=ifr&ref=ss_til&asins=0871162857" style="width:120px;height:240px;" scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0"></iframe>

Or the downloadable one from Maggie Bergman, here's my review of it:

I have been trying to do some fingerprint charms with PMC3. I have the fingerprints set in a RTV silicone mold and I need to reverse them so I can press them into the PMC3. My sister mailed me the prints or I would just press their fingers in straight away! :) What is the best way to get a good cast of the mold to keep the details of the print?
