In addition to some of the art camps I wrote about previously, you can also learn blacksmithing at

Tillers International.

Tillers is a fascinating not for profit. Their main work is teaching and preserving old ways of doing farming — plowing with oxen, making rope by hand, things like that.

Not just for it’s own sake, but to help folks in other countries who could benefit.

And so blacksmithing is one of the skills they teach; they have Smithing I and II, Artistic Blacksmithing, Knifemaking, Smithing for Youth and more. Classes are held in Michigan and Minnesota.
