Ring #51
Here’s a better picture of ring number 51 for the Ring-a-Week Challenge. It’s a perfect example of why it’s useful to make a bunch of a type of thing. Before Ring-a-Week I never would have sat down to make a ring with bronze wire, iron wire and brass beads!
I love the way this one turned out — the contrast between the metal colors, the graceful arch of the brass beads. All of these elements have been seen before in my Ring-a-Week journey. I love the look of the wrapped wire and have been trying that in all different ways.
While not all 52 of my rings are fabulous, they each led to something, are important. I think my experience with Ring-a-Week is showing me the importance of play, of sketching in wire and just making lots of stuff.
Notice I said “is showing me,” I’m still committed to continuing! Though I may slow down a bit and you know, make one ring per week for a while, so I can finish some other projects too.
