Review: Artful Ways with Polymer Clay

Artful Ways with Polymer Clay by Dotty McMillan, just out last month, is a helpful beginning book on polymer clay, with some extras of interest to those who work with metal clay.

If you’re ovewhelmed by the ever expanding choices in polymer clay, the author covers that, with the strengths of the various products.

The “extras” include image transfer onto polymer clay, making molds with RTV and Super Elasticlay, and silkscreening onto clay.

For those interested in polymer clay, the techniques section and projects sections are very good. I like this book because though I might dabble in polymer as an addition to my jewelry work, I’m never going to be a heavy-duty cane making polymer clay addict. This book is clear, consice and doesn’t assume knowledge.
